Dr Ioannis Panapakidis received a diploma in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.T.H.) and a Ph.D. degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.T.H.). Currently he is Scientific Associate in the Electrical Engineering Department of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaly (Larissa, Greece).

His research interests lie primarily in the fields of electrical consumers modelling, demand side management and energy policy. He has participated in research projects run by the Electric Power Division of A.U.T.H. During the periods 2007-2009 and 2010-2013 he has been a member of Permanent Committee of Energy of the Technical Chamber of Greece, Section of Central Macedonia.

He has authored 29 scientific papers published in international journals and conference proceedings. He is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, The Institution of Engineering and Technology and the Council on Large Electric Systems.
